SUMMARY:Media Studies and AI Literacies: Colloquium # 3
DESCRIPTION:Der Vortrag macht seine eigenen Vollzugsbedingungen zum Gegenst

SUMMARY:NOMIS Lecture: Harvest to the Mountains: Energy\, Politics\, and th
e Imaging of Nature in the Kulturfilm
DESCRIPTION:Assimilating lifestyle and educational themes to a documentary
style\, the Kulturfilm - a cinematic genre emerging during the Weimar Repu
blic in Germany - naturalized nascent authoritarian ideology for mass audi
ences under the guise of the edification. 1933 represents a critical hinge
when the underpinnings of the genre ceded to direct propaganda. Exploring
these tendencies in the media production of the Allgemeine Elektricitäts
-Gesellschaft during this critical period\, this talk will examine where t
echniques of visualization in the electrical sciences relate to the Kultur
film’s politics of the imaging of nature.
