This workshop will focus on the challenges and opportunities of working on an exhibition that engages the topics of sex, gender, and identity. Attendees will collectively consider what it means to ‘queer’ a permanent collection, the role of language in discussing people and their desires in the past, ways to make an exhibition speak to diverse publics, and scholarly and ethical imperatives in such a project.
Limited number of participants. Please register at: eikones@clutterunibas.ch
We encourage those interested in this event to also attend the lecture on March 5, 2026 at the Kunsthistorisches Seminar. Please also read the introduction to the exhibition catalogue, “A Queer Middle Ages,” prior to attending.
