Current project

In the Shadow of the Identical:

Theodor W. Adorno's Concept of the Work of Art in the Aesthetic Theory between Ontology and Theory of the Subject.

Azzouz’s dissertation project deals with Theodor W. Adorno’s concept of the work of art in the AestheticTheory. At the centre of the work is the question of the concept of the work of art and its position in respect to the relationship between subject and object. In doing so the project follows the thesis that Adorno’s concept of the work of art cannot be grasped in an ontology of the work of art, nor dissolved in a theory of aesthetic experience. Rather, Adorno’s concept of the work of art lies in the failure of both.
